for the entertainment industry, and included both audio and video data,
spanning multiple locations, multiple remote development teams, and
multiple data centers around the globe. I was ultimately responsible for
all aspects of the development, design and delivery of a live production
Cloud & SaaS environment within a 24 month time-frame.

Operations Department from scratch. As the only member of the devops team

PS3 Online - Data-Center Operations Management
I was contracted and then hired full-time to manage the design and
build-out of the new 24x7x365 PlayStation3 Online Gaming Data-Center from
the initial needs and requirements assessments through to the final
deliverable of a live production environment prior to the PS3 Console
release date. The scope of the project consisted of multiple data-centers
around the globe, multiple engineering teams developing in a java/tomcat
environment, and more than 8,000 servers and network devices in total, on
multiple continents with over 100 individual contributors. As part of my
overall responsibility, the infrastructure was required to successfully
pass both PCI & SOX compliance audits as well as a Symantec Security
audit. The task was accomplished within the 18 month time-frame initially
given. I left after receiving an offer (while still at SCEA) which I
felt I could not refuse.
